Jeff Beck, probably the most second famous English blues guitarist, after Eric Clatpon, had even less of an important role in the development of art rock than Clapton did, but still played a role. As Clapton's replacement in The Yardbirds, Beck expanded the possibilities of the guitar, helping to create some of the earliest psychedelic rock music. Later, in the 1970s, Beck experimented with jazz fusion.
