Art Pop is a genre more adjacent to Art Rock than part of it, a genre that arguably existed long before Art Rock did, and possibly even before Rock and Roll itself, depending upon your definition. Art Pop is part ofArt Rock proper for our purposes only because of the conflation of pop and rock as Pop Rock since the British Invasion.
