"Norwegian Wood" is a Beatles song written by John Lennon with some degree of contribution from Paul McCartney. It is notable as one of the ancestors of Psychedelia because, though it is a folk song, it features a sitar played by George Harrison, perhaps the first time the instrument had ever been used on a pop rock song.

Arrangement and Performance

  • John Lennon – double-tracked vocals, acoustic guitar
  • Paul McCartney – bass guitar, harmony vocals
  • George Harrison – 12-string acoustic guitar, double-tracked sitar
  • Ringo Starr – tambourine, bass drum
